YouTuber PewDiePie raises $1.3m for Charity!

On the 9th of December popular YouTuber PewDiePie hosted a Live Charity Stream on YouTube for ‘(RED)‘. He was joined on camera by well known YouTubers Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, KickthePJ and Emmablackery.

During his 7 hour 31 minute Live Stream they raised $1,300,000 for the charity. Based on the charities published activity this will help around 6,800,000 people!

What is (RED)?

(RED) is a charity fighting Aids and aims to have it eradicated by 2030. Popular brands have partnered with (RED) such as Beats by Dre, Apple, Bank of America, Salesforce, Starbucks, SAP, Coca-Cola, GAP, Vespa and Dyson.

Where you see (RED) on products you buy you know that up to 50% of the profits go to (RED) to fight AIDS/HIV. The contribution helps a person affected by HIV in Ghana, Lesotho, Rwanda, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Kenya and Zambia.

(RED) has raised over $365 Million over the past 10 years to support The Global Fund’s work which has helped over 70 Million people
